[letterhead:] writeway [letterhead:] PROFESSIONAL LITERARY ASSOCIATES [letterhead:] 2365 PURDUE DRIVE * COSTA MESA, CA 92626 * [letterhead:] (714) 850-0349 TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: Although it's been 20 years ago, as the chief writer on Mike Warnke's book The Satan Seller, I can shed some light on how we wrote this book. Concerning whether the book is 100 percent accurate, I stand behind the Warnke life story as fundamentally accurate and true except where changes were intentionally made to protect the privacy of people or to prevent readers from using this book as a guide for occultic and satanic practices. Factual accounts in Warnke's life, generally altered, partially or completely changed, included some locations, people's names, dates, some events, and occultic information which would have given readers accurate information and dates for conducting their own rituals. It should be noted that there is a brief statement in the book mentioning that some of the information has been changed. I've authored many biographical books for publishers ranging from Logos to Doubleday and, in all cases, information has been changed or altered for various reasons -- usually privacy or to prevent lawsuits. During the writing process of this book, I completed the first draft and give it to Mike and Sue Warnke. I thought it read very well and told the story with dramatic accuracy. It was ready for the publisher as far as I was concerned. However, they read it and informed me that it was all wrong -- events out of sequence and other related problems. At that point, for nearly two months, I sat with both Mike and Sue rewriting the book on their kitchen table. Not only was it a difficult job rearranging the material for accuracy purposes, but changing and altering material to protect people's privacy and to protect the publisher from lawsuits was an additional burdensome task. Today, 20 years after writing the book, and 33 major literary works later, I cannot remember all the specific changes or alterations....more

Page twoIn the alleged Cornerstone magazine expose on The Satan Seller, the one person -- Sue Warnke -- who could have confirmed Mike's life story wasn't even interviewed. Sue Warnke "lived and experienced" about 60 percent of the book's story, and as I discovered had some of her own independent knowledge of Mike's earlier satanism practices. During the course of writing this book, I visited some of the locations where coven meetings and rituals were conducted. I recall that all the building sites were occupied except one abandoned house which reflected occultic activity, fires, and satanic symbolism. Also, during and after the book writing period, I met probably a half dozen people who had knowledge of Warnke's satanic activities. I met one of these individuals while traveling with Warnke on the book tour. Now, 20 years later, I cannot remember who I met nor the specific knowledge they contributed to the account. But the fact that they also came forward was an additional confirmation of the Warnke story. Having continued my work in occult-related criminal activities -- with over 2,000 professional case hours -- and authoring five investigative training publications for law enforcement agencies, it's my opinion the Warnke story of his involvement in satanism as told in his book is true. When it comes to Warnke's concert comic routines, most people know there is some exaggeration in his account as humor in comedy is often arrived at by exaggeration of information. It might be pointed out that his activity as told in The Satan Seller is "kid's play" compared to occult-satanic ritual activities taking place today. Untold numbers of high schoolers, college students, and other individuals are now routinely involved in many of the activities described by Warnke in his book -- which at the time of publication created quite a sensation, but today is totally ignored by law enforcement unless a criminal act can be proven to have taken place during the course of the satanic activity.
